HEATED STORAGE BUILDING
INVITATION TO BID
The Waukesha Town Board will be accepting bids for the following: A new public works heated storage building located at the Town of Waukesha located at W250S3567 Center Rd.
Bids shall include the following:
One (1) removal of one 24’0”x 40’0” storage building
One (1) 60’ x 80’ heated storage building
All applicable permits.
Bid packets can be picked up at the Town of Waukesha offices located at W250S3567 Center Rd, Waukesha, WI 53189, Monday through Friday between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm starting September 19, 2018.
Sealed bids shall be accepted until 11:00 am, Monday October 15, 2018 at the Town of Waukesha offices and shall be plainly marked “2018 Town of Waukesha Heated Storage Building Bid”. Bids shall be opened at that time for review, discussion and possible awarded at the regular Town of Waukesha Board meeting at 6:30 pm on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at the Town of Waukesha Town Hall, W250S3567 Center Rd, Waukesha, WI 53189.

TOWN OF WAUKESHA Public Works Heated Maintenance Building SPECIFICATIONS
Under Wis. § 66.0903 & 103.49 this project does not require a prevailing wage rate determination. Bids shall be ‘Lump Sum’ to include building, site preparation, and removal of all debris with the lowest bidder being considered. Work shall begin within 30 days of bid acceptance. (Weather permitting)
All work shall be done in a substantial workmanlike manner. All current local, state and federal building codes shall be followed.
The work performed under these specifications shall consist of all labor and materials to remove a storage shed 24’0” x 40’0” and building a 60’ 0” wide 17’ 0” high(inside clearance) x 80’ 0” long commercial pole building for the Town of Waukesha public works department in accordance with all the requirements of the contract. The building will hold Trucks and other equipment.
2. BUILDING SPECS:
Scope of Work: This work shall consist of all demolition and removal of 24’ 0” x 40’ 0“ building, excavation and erecting a 60’ 0” wide x 17’ 0” high (inside clearance) x 80’ 0” long high heated commercial pole building.
Site prep and restoration bid shall specify the type of fill to be imported and the tonnage of fill expected and included in bid. The existing 24’0” x 40’0” cold storage building demolition and all debris removed from town property.
The steel roofing and siding panel substrate shall be .019” Minimum thickness commercial quality steal sheet with a G90(zinc) coding (ASTM A5z55 Aluminum/Zink (galvalume) coating (ASTM A792). The weather side of panel shall receive a nominal two tenths mil Polyurethane primer and a normal eight tents mil topcoat of 70% Polyvinyldene Fluoride Resin (*KYNAR 500/HALAR 5000) to achieve a total nominal paint film thickness of one mil. The non-weather side paint system shall consist of a two coat finish with a total nominal thickness of one half mil.
The trim for corners, gable and fascia shall be same quality material as siding panels.
The roofing and siding panels shall be secured to the building frame with stainless steel internal drive screws painted to match the steel panels.
Minimum 4000 PSI 6” cured concrete floor with fiber with post frame building columns. Embedded treated wood columns will not be accepted.
Install on the endwall one 24’0” wide by 14’0” two sided steel urethane insulated overhead door with a minimum “R” value of R-17.5 with a dual trolley opener. Install on the sidewall one 14’0” wide by 14’0” two sided steel urethane insulated overhead door with a minimum “R” value of r-17.5 with a opener.
Install on both sidewalls 3’0” entry doors with insulated jams and Schlage AL series lock sets. Overhang and Venting
The building endwall and sidewall shall have a 12” overhang. The overhang shall be finished underneath with prefinished aluminum soffit. With a continual vented ridge. The soffit and ridge vent to have equal amount of free air opening and installed with filler strips, weather seals, and connectors to provide a naturally ventilated attic space.
Gutters shall be 5” aluminum gutters, colors to match the trim of the building and shall be installed on all eave lines. Downspouts shall be provided as needed for proper drainage and carry the roof drainage away from the building in underground drainage tile. Insulation The wall cavity shall be insulated with an “R” value of not less than an R-19. The ceiling shall be insulated with an “R” value of not less than R-38. The entire wall service and entire ceiling surface to be covered with 4 mil plastic vapor retarder placed on the warm side of the insulation with the spliced edges lapped. Plumbing:
For washing trucks bring in water line to be used for washing trucks. Trench in sewer line from floor drain to clean out. Install a commercial floor drain, centered and located near the 24”0” overhead door with a catch basin per state codes. Comply with all local, state and federal codes.
Install forced-air heat with an air makeup system using state specifications for the building size and parking garage use. Comply with all local, state and federal codes. Electrical:
Install 100 am 240 v sub panel, trench electrical service from DPW Building (Approx. 10’). Install 30- 4’ LED strip lights, 2 external LED wall packs with photo eye control over each door, and install exit lights with emergency egress lighting as required by law.
Install 16-GFCI receptacles, 2-three way switches, 2- commercial grade garage doors wired, 2- 240 50 amp receptacles. Comply with all local, state and federal codes.
The building plan must be submitted to the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) for plan approval. Questions shall be accepted until 2:00 pm on October 4, 2018. All bidders who supply an email address shall be copied on all questions/answers by the close of business on that day.
Bid document shall also include a list of local clients contact information with a similar building.
Payment: The Town of Waukesha’s preference is to pay for goods/services on a P-Card. Indicate in the pricing document whether you will accept Visa/MasterCard for payment purposes. If so, all pricing must be inclusive of any and all fees associated with the acceptance of MasterCard; i.e. vendors are not to add notations such as “+3% service fee”. In addition, vendor should note how many days after receipt and acceptance of goods/services or receipt of invoice (whichever is later), payment must be processed to accept the credit card. Please keep in mind that we will not process payment until/unless compliance with the requirements/receipt of goods are confirmed and that the Town of Waukesha requires a minimum of two (2) days to process p-card payments. If you are unable to accept credit card, payment will be made within thirty (30) days after completion and inspection of property and receipt of a properly documented invoice.
